Send EmailWhat is EX vivo?
Ex vivo means "outside of a living thing" and is a term used in biological research. This method refers to the examination of tissues or cells taken from a living organism in a controlled laboratory environment outside of the organism. Ex vivo studies are used to understand how cells or tissues behave under certain conditions by isolating them from their natural environment. This method acts as a bridge between in vivo (in a living being) and in vitro (in a laboratory environment) studies.
