These products are considered "formulation auxiliaries" or "specialty chemicals" in the chemical industry. They are not visible in the final product (such as cleaning agents or pesticides), but they ensure that the product is effective, stable, and safe.
The primary function of this group is to chemically dissolve stubborn mineral deposits (limescale, rust) and soap residues from surfaces.
This series is based on Methanesulfonic Acid (MSA), a powerful and more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional acids like phosphoric acid or hydrochloric acid.
Lutropur® MSA (70% Solution):
Description: A 70% concentrated solution of methanesulfonic acid in water. Its density is approximately 1.35 g/cm³.
Principle of Action: As a very strong acid, it instantly reacts with deposits like calcium carbonate (limescale) and calcium phosphate, converting them into water-soluble salts.
Applications:
Industrial Facilities: Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems for stainless steel tanks and pipes in food processing plants (e.g., dairy, breweries).
Professional Cleaning: Removing heavy limescale layers in high-usage bathrooms and kitchens.
Lutropur® MSA-XP (94% High Concentration):
Description: A higher concentration version (94%). Its density is around 1.46 g/cm³.
Difference: It contains less water, making logistics (transportation) more economical. It is ideal for special formulations requiring high acid concentration, to be diluted at the point of use.
Lutropur® MSA-SP (Corrosion Protection Version):
Description: A 70% MSA solution with added corrosion inhibitors.
Importance: Standard acids can damage metals. This version cleans only the dirt while protecting the metal, especially on sensitive metal surfaces (e.g., some industrial machinery or kitchen equipment).
Lutropur® MSA 100 (100% Pure Solid):
Description: Pure, crystalline methanesulfonic acid with no water. Its melting point is 20°C.
Application: Typically used as a reactant in chemical synthesis or in very specific industrial applications.
Description: A special blend of aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, including adipic acid, glutaric acid, and succinic acid. It is in flake form for easy handling and dosing. It has a very high acid number (850 mg KOH/g), meaning it has a high neutralization capacity.
Principle of Action: When dissolved in water, it rapidly lowers the pH (makes it acidic) and binds (chelates) calcium and magnesium ions, dissolving them.
Applications:
Detergent Additive: Softens water in laundry and dishwashing detergents, prevents limescale formation, and enhances detergent performance.
Industrial Cleaners: Acts as the primary descaling agent in metal surface cleaners and toilet bowl cleaners.
Rinse Aid: In dishwasher rinse aids, it reduces the surface tension of water, preventing drying spots (water marks).
These products are typically derived from vegetable oils and serve as solvents and adjuvants that enhance the effectiveness of pesticides.
Agnique® AE 3-2EH (2-Ethylhexyl Lactate, CAS: 6283-86-9):
Description: A bio-based ester formed from lactic acid (a natural acid) and 2-ethylhexanol.
Function: Serves as the primary solvent for dissolving active ingredients, especially in EC (Emulsifiable Concentrate) agrochemical formulations.
Agnique® AE 1218-2 EH (2-Ethylhexyl Cocoate, CAS: 92044-96-7):
Description: An ester of fatty acids derived from coconut oil.
Function: Acts as an adjuvant. When sprayed, it ensures droplets spread in a thin film on the plant leaf (leaf wetting) rather than beading up, thereby increasing the efficacy of the active ingredient.
Agnique® AE 829 (Di-isononyl Cyclohexanedicarboxylate, CAS: 166412-78-8):
Description: A phthalate-free, specialized plasticizer and solvent.
Importance: It is a safe alternative in applications where phthalates are restricted due to health concerns.
These products are chemical cousins of biodiesel. They are produced by reacting vegetable oils (like rapeseed/canola and soybean) with methyl alcohol.
Agnique® ME 18 RD-F (Rapeseed Methyl Ester, CAS: 73891-99-3)
Agnique® ME 18 SD-F (Soybean Methyl Ester, CAS: 67784-80-9)
Agnique® ME 1218 (Mixed Methyl Ester, CAS: 67762-38-3)
Common Functions:
Green Solvent: More environmentally friendly compared to petroleum-based solvents.
Agricultural Solvent: Helps dissolve active ingredients and ensures their homogeneous dispersion in liquids for formulations like SC (Suspension Concentrate).
Adjuvant: Enhances the uptake of the active ingredient by the plant.
This series is known for its powerful solvent properties. They are especially used to formulate modern pesticides that are difficult to dissolve in water.
Agnique® AMD 3 L (Dimethyl Lactamide, CAS: 35123-06-9):
Description: A lactic acid-based amide that is miscible with water in all proportions.
Key Features: It is both a very strong solvent and is readily biodegradable and non-toxic.
Agnique® AMD 810 (C8-10 Dimethyl Amide, CAS: 14433-76-2)
Agnique® AMD 10 (C10 Dimethyl Amide, CAS: 14433-77-3)
Agnique® AMD 12 (C12 Dimethyl Amide, CAS: 3001-72-5)
Description: Dimethyl amides with different fatty acid chain lengths. The chain length determines whether the solvent will perform better in oil-based or water-based systems.
Common Functions (for the entire AMD Series):
"Super Solvent": They can dissolve even the most difficult active ingredients that other solvents cannot.
Versatility: They can be used not only in oil-based but also in water-based agrochemical formulations (they are compatible with all formulation types like EC, EW, SE, DC, SL).
Industrial Use: Beyond agriculture, they can be preferred in fields requiring high-purity solvents, such as electronics cleaning.
