Source Petroleum refining (base oil production by-product)

Description: Paraffin Wax is a white, odorless, tasteless, waxy solid derived from petroleum refining. It is a mixture of high molecular weight straight-chain alkanes (paraffin hydrocarbons) with the general formula CₙH₂ₙ₊₂. It is obtained from slack wax, a by-product of base oil production in petroleum refineries. Fully refined paraffin wax contains less than 0.5% oil and is characterized by its crystalline structure, hydrophobicity, and thermal stability. It is widely used in candle making, packaging, cosmetics, food coating, pharmaceuticals, and numerous industrial applications.
