Description: Detergent Base Powder (Tower Powder) is the fundamental granular intermediate used in the detergent industry. It is produced by spray drying a slurry of surfactants, builders, and fillers in high-temperature spray towers. The resulting "popcorn-like" granules serve as the base for various detergent formulations. This powder is not a finished product but a versatile intermediate that can be post-dosed with enzymes, bleaches, perfumes, and other additives to create different detergent types.

SECTION 3: MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Stage Description
1. Slurry Preparation LABSA, sodium sulfate, sodium carbonate, water, and other ingredients are mixed to form a pumpable slurry
2. Spray Drying The slurry is pumped to the top of a spray tower and atomized through high-pressure nozzles
3. Drying Hot air (250-350°C) is blown into the tower; droplets dry rapidly as they fall
4. Granule Formation Dried particles form "popcorn-like" hollow granules
5. Classification Granules are screened to remove fines and oversized particles
6. Cooling Product is cooled before packaging or further processing
7. Post-Dosing Enzymes, perfumes, bleaches, and other heat-sensitive ingredients are added after cooling
