2. WHAT IS TARTAR EMETIC?

Tartar Emetic (Potassium Antimony Tartrate) is an inorganic salt composed of antimony, potassium, and tartaric acid . It appears as colorless transparent crystals or white granular powder. It is soluble in water and glycerol, but insoluble in alcohol. Historically, it has been used in medicine as an emetic and for the treatment of schistosomiasis (parasitic disease) . Today, it is primarily used as a mordant in textile dyeing, in the leather industry, and as an insecticide . It is a highly toxic compound.

CRITICAL WARNINGS
