Nitric Acid, Kezzap, Hydrogen Nitrate, 7697-32-2

Nitric Acid, Kezzap, Hydrogen Nitrate, Nitric Acid – 7697-37-2
Molecular Formula (Nitric Acid): HNO3
Molecular Weight: 63.013 g/mol
Chemical Name: Nitric Acid
CAS Number: 7697-37-2

It is a chemical in the colorless corrosive acid class called Nitrogen Acid. It is called fortis spirit and vitriol in the public language. Its molecular formula is nitrogen oxoacid formed by the Nitrogen (N) atom making a bond to 1 Hydroxy (H) atom on one side and 2 Oxygen (O) atoms on the other side.

The concentrated form available in the market has a concentration of 60%. The HNO3 form called smoky has a concentration of 85%. The dissolved form in water should be more than 85% by weight. The reason why it is called smoky is due to the smoke that rises on it.

The product with high strength has a concentration of 90% (v/v).

Other Names of Nitric Acid are as follows;
Hydrogen Nitrate
Azotic Acid
Fuming HNO3
Aqua Forstis
Kezzap
Red Fuming HNO3

Where are the Areas of Use of Nitric Acid?
The production of fertilizers used in the agricultural sector is carried out with this chemical. It is an industrial acid of great importance.
It is used in the production of fertilizers such as Ammonium Nitrate, Sodium Nitrate, Potassium Nitrate and Calcium Nitrate. This sector has the largest usage portfolio. Because it is the best chemical as a nitrate source.
It is used in the synthesis of nitrates and nitroorganics used in the production of explosives, gunpowder and fireworks.
Raw materials such as adipic acid and caprolactam are used in the production of nylon. Cyclohexanone is used to produce these raw materials. This chemical is needed to produce cyclohexanone.
It is one of the most important reagents used in the laboratory.
It can be dissolved if the Titanium compound found on the Surface of Outdoors is used together with Hydrofluoric Acid.
It is used as a mineral acid source to clean the deposits accumulated on the heat exchangers used in the food industry.
It is used for cleaning on Gold and Silver surfaces in the production of spark plug products.
If a microbacterial process is applied in these treatment systems, nitric acid is used as a nitrogen source in this area.
In the dairy industry, organic pollution, oils and proteins occur in milk tanks, boilers and milk receiving lines. These can produce bacteria and cause unwanted bad odors and disturbing conditions. Cleaning processes in milk factories and milk processing facilities are carried out with nitric acid.
Where are Other Areas of Use?
In the wastewater treatment sector, a combination of sulfuric acid and nitric acid is used together to purify some metals.
Before low and high alloy painting, nitric acid is used together with sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, tartaric acid, citric acid and chromic acid in the surface treatments of aluminum, low-capacity steel, copper and zinc alloys.
In the manufacture of fertilizers such as Ammonium Nitrate, Ammonium Sulfate and ammonium sulfate, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and nitric acid are used together.
Stainless pipes are connected by gas welding. It is used by mixing with hydrofluoric acid to remove and polish welding marks on stainless pipes.
Weld stains occur on stainless metals that are subjected to argon welding. A solution is created with another strong acid to remove welding stains and the resulting welding stains are polished.
Substances such as nitric oxide and nitric acid are used to solve problems that occur in the digestive systems of birds in their stomachs and intestines.
It is a compound used as an oxygen source in the production of Selenium Dioxide.
Argon Welding is used to combine some stainless materials. After the welding process, tarnishing and then corrosion occur on the stainless metal. Pickling Gel is produced to remove welding residues on stainless materials and to polish stainless. This gel is used in the production of this gel.
Nitric acid is used in the cleaning of heat exchangers of combi boilers and copper pipes. In this application, the process is carried out by immersion method.
In the agricultural sector, it prevents the growth of harmful weeds by lowering the pH of the soil in drip irrigation systems at the base of apricot trees. In this way, it helps to get better yield from the fruit tree.
It is used as an inorganic solvent acid in the production of corrosion resistant metal pigments. Instead of this inorganic acid, another inorganic acid, Sulfuric Acid and Hydrochloric Acid, can be used in this application.

Potassium nitrate productionIt is one of the main compounds used in the boiler. It is one of the chemicals produced for boiler cleaning. It is used to clean the lime in the boiler. Hydrofluoric Acid can also be used.
