Fadex F Liq Conc, Improves Hot Lightfastness, Polyester Light Fastness Developer, UV Adsorber, (Archroma)

Fadex® F liq conc. is a highly efficient UV absorber developed by Archroma, specifically designed for polyester textiles intended for the automotive industry. It improves the hot lightfastness of polyester dyeings with disperse dyes, reduces fiber damage caused by photochemical degradation, and enhances the overall lightfastness of disperse dyes. It is particularly suitable for exhaust dyeing due to its excellent dispersion stability and has minimal impact on the shade of dyeings.

Key Features:

  • Appearance: White to yellowish aqueous dispersion.

  • Chemical Composition: Benzotriazole derivative.

  • Ionic Character: Anionic.

  • Viscosity: ≤ 300 mPa.s.

  • pH: 5.5-6.0 (commercial product).

  • Dilution: Can be diluted in any proportion with cold water.

  • Storage Stability: Good. The product freezes at -3°C but regains full effectiveness after thawing and stirring.

  • Compatibility: Compatible with anionic and non-ionic products used in polyester (PES) dyeing.

  • Foaming Behavior: Low foaming.

Applications:

  1. Exhaust Dyeing Process:

    • Fadex® F liq conc. is added at the beginning of the dyeing process along with the dyes.

    • It exhausts rapidly and completely on all PES fibers under high-temperature (HT) conditions.

    • Sample Recipe:

      • x% Disperse dyes.

      • 1.2-2.5% Fadex® F liq conc.

      • 1-2 g/l Opticid® PSD liq (pH 4.5-5).

      • 0.5-2.0 g/l Lyocol® RDN liq or Lyocol® PRDN liq.

      • Heat to 130°C and dye for 30-60 minutes.

      • Reduction clearing is recommended for high lightfastness.

  2. Continuous Processes (Pad-Thermosol):

    • Suitable for pad-thermosol processes, but sublimation may occur at high thermosol temperatures.

    • Sublimation can be compensated by increasing the amount of Fadex® F liq conc.

    • Sample Recipe:

      • x g/l Disperse dye.

      • 15-30 g/l Fadex® F liq conc.

      • 10-30 g/l Solidokoll® V liq.

      • pH 4-5 with Opticid® PSD liq.

      • Pad at 60-80% pickup, dry at 110-130°C, and thermosol at 190-210°C.

      • Reduction clearing is recommended for optimal lightfastness.

  3. Printing:

    • Similar limitations apply as in continuous dyeing due to sublimation at high temperatures.

    • Sample Recipe:

      • x g stock paste.

      • y g Disperse dye.

      • 10 g Lyocol® BC liq.

      • 5-10 g Lyogen® CN liq.

      • 20-30 g Fadex® F liq conc.

      • 10 g Opticid® PSD liq (1:2 dilution for pH adjustment).

      • z g Water.

      • Dry at 110°C and fix with superheated steam for 6 minutes at 180°C.

      • Reduction cleaning is recommended.

Reduction Cleaning:

  • Cold rinse.

  • Wash at 40°C with 1 g/l Eganal® DFT liq.

  • Wash at 50°C with 1 g/l Eganal® DFT liq.

  • Reduction clearing at 70°C with:

    • 1 g/l Eganal® DFT liq.

    • 4 g/l Soda ash.

    • 2 g/l Sodium dithionite.

  • Cold rinse and neutralize.

Safety and Storage:

  • Storage: Store at temperatures above -3°C. Stir well before use.

  • Safety Data: Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for detailed toxicological and ecological information.
