Eganal® DFT liq is a leveling agent developed by Archroma, primarily used for dyeing polyester fibers but also suitable for acetate, triacetate, and polyamide fibers with disperse dyes. It helps to achieve uniform dyeing and can also be used to lighten dyeings. Additionally, it serves as an auxiliary in reductive stripping baths and acts as a washing agent to remove unfixed disperse dyes during washing and reduction clearing processes. It also enhances the effect of reduction agents in discharging prints.

Key Features:

• Appearance: Homogeneous, yellowish clear liquid.

• Chemical Composition: Alkyl polyglycol ether.

• Ionic Character: Nonionic.

• pH: 6.5-8.5 (1% in water).

• Dilution: Can be diluted in all proportions with water at 40°C.

• Storage Stability: Good. Viscosity increases at lower temperatures but returns to normal when heated.

• Compatibility: Compatible with anionic, nonionic, and cationic products.

• Foam Formation: Moderate to average, depending on the machine.

Applications:

1. Leveling Agent for Dyeing:

   • Used in exhaust dyeing of polyester (PES), polyamide (PA), acetate, and triacetate fibers with disperse dyes.

   • Enhances the solubility of disperse dyes, ensuring uniform dyeing.

   • Recommended to combine with anionic dispersants like Lyocol® RDN liq or Lyocol® PRDN liq for better results.

   • Dosage: 0.2% - 0.5% Eganal® DFT liq, along with 0.5% - 1.0% Lyocol® RDN liq or Lyocol® PRDN liq.

2. Fluorescence Brightening:

   • Can be used during fluorescence brightening of polyester and triacetate fibers under high temperatures with disperse brighteners.

3. Washing and Reduction Clearing:

   • Removes unfixed disperse dyes rapidly and thoroughly during washing off or reduction clearing.

   • Dyeing:

     • Washing: 0.5% - 1% Eganal® DFT liq at 50°C - 70°C.

     • Reduction Clearing: 1% Eganal® DFT liq, 4 ml/l caustic soda (36°Bé), and 2 g/l Cyclanon® MCL liq or sodium hydrosulphite at 80°C.

   • Printing:

     • Cold rinsing followed by rinsing at 40°C, 60°C, and 80°C with 1 g/l Eganal® DFT liq.

     • Reduction clearing with 2 ml/l caustic soda (36°Bé) and 2 g/l Cyclanon® MCL liq.

     • Final cold rinsing and neutralizing.

• Storage: Store at room temperature. The product is stable, but viscosity may increase at lower temperatures.
