Appretan® Thickener 2710 liq is a thickening agent produced by Archroma, specifically designed for water-based formulations, particularly those based on synthetic latex. It is widely used in the textile and home textile sectors to adjust the viscosity of polymer dispersions, natural and synthetic latices, and other finishing agents.

General Properties:

• Appearance: Yellowish, low-viscosity emulsion.

• Chemical Composition: Synthetic thickener based on polyacrylate.

• Ionic Character: Anionic.

• Viscosity:

  • Brookfield viscosity (25°C, 30 rpm): < 4000 mPa.s.

  • White paste viscosity: Approximately 10000 mPa.s.

• pH: > 8 at 25°C (alkaline).

• Dilution: The product cannot be diluted with water.

• Compatibility: Compatible with selected non-ionic/anionic dispersions, fluorocarbon resins, crosslinking agents, resins, softeners, catalysts, and other textile auxiliaries. Preliminary testing is recommended.

• Storage: Can be stored for up to 6 months in the original, unopened container at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. The product is sensitive to frost and should be protected from water splashes.

Usage Instructions:

• Mixing: The product should be added at the end of the mixing process with vigorous stirring to ensure proper inversion and efficiency.

• Stock Solution: Appretan® Thickener 2710 liq cannot be prepared as a stock solution or diluted with water.

• Viscosity Adjustment: Excessively high viscosities can be reduced by adding water or un-thickened compositions.

• pH Adjustment: The product is over-neutralized, but pH can be adjusted if necessary.

Applications:

• Textile Finishing: Used to thicken synthetic latices such as acrylic copolymers and SBR dispersions for textile finishing.

• Home Textiles: Suitable for applications in carpets, upholstery, and other home textile products.

• Pigment Printing: Effective in increasing the viscosity of pigment-based pastes.
